Owner details for Bristol Commercial Vehicles

The manufacturer Bristol Commercial Vehicles of Bristol was part of the Tilling group. By the time of the RELHs production some of the shares had been aquired by Leyland. Subsequently Leyland acquired all of the company, after which they very quickly closed it down in 1983.
The company kept one of the prototype RELHs for many years (the only one fitted with a Bristol engine). Eventually the engine was replaced with a Gardner and, in 1967, it was fitted out with seats by ECW before finally being registered and sold to West Yorkshire.
