Eastern National of Chelmsford, as part of the Tilling group, was one of the original operators of this type of vehicle. Their RELHs were used for two different purposes; scheduled express services to London and private hire activities.
The private-hire coach activities are very inter-related with the Tillings Transport company. Various coaches were swapped between the companies, and they were available for short term loans at any time. The private-hire work was subsequently transferred to National Travel South East.
Express work consisted of various short-distance routes to London (for examples see here), these vehicles were subsequently downgraded to buses.
The SCT website contains further information about the company which is now part of the First Group.
