| Western National of Plymouth, as part of the Tilling group, was one of the original operators of this type of vehicle. The company absorbed Southern National in 1971 only to be eventually broken up into four smaller companies again in 1983. Two of these companies, Southern National (1983) and Western National (1983), received RELHs. The 14xx series coaches were intended for use on private hire/local excursions, though were all delivered in Royal Blue Blue/Cream livery. The 23xx series were intended for Associated Motorways or Royal Blue coach services between the West of England/Bournemouth and London/Cheltenham, all arrived in Royal Blue Blue/Cream livery. For examples of the services operated see here.
